My hamster is acting really weired! This morning (10 ish) we thought she was going to die, it is now 3:00 and she is really tired looking. We think she has eaten something poisionous to her or she is extremaly cold. What do I do? We dont want to take her to the vet..the vet probably wont be able to help! PLEASE HELP!

Never under-estimate a vets care. get her to a vet asap.
If she is super old, she might die..and prepare for that.
My sister had a hamster and it sounded exactly like this.
It turned she had a HUGE tumor, and she died shortly after.
Hamsters usually dont live very long.. You probably didn't clean her water/food enough.or she got some kind of disease from her poop in her cage.
Make sure she is warm (heat a dry washcloth in the microwave for just a few seconds and wrap her in it). Try to get her to drink some watrer. That may dilute something that she ate. You can massage her belly a little with your finger. Good luck.

Actually, you'd be surprised what the vet can do. I suggest at least calling the vet and asking them.
If she's lethargic and you think she might be cold, you can try holding her in your warm hands or even wrapping her up in a dry washcloth in your hands (obviously, leaving her head unwrapped).
If she's old, she may just be old.. I would still recommend calling the vet :-)

Sorry to say it might be her time to go. That is they way both of mine acted before they died.
they are right never underestimate and vets care..YOU NEED TO TAKE HER TO THE VET ASAP.You should have someone take care of this poor creature while you clean out the cage THROUGHLY make sure there is NOTHING in there she could have eaten .best of luck.

what poisonous item could she have possibly eaten? try to remember if she was out of her cage and what objects were surrounding her.
if she's cold, then warm her! use a blanket, or put her near a heater.
make sure she stays hydrated.
i would take her to the vet but here is a check list to check off does she have any discharge from nose or eyes is she sneezing are her eyes open or shut another thing how old is she hamsters when they get old can get ill very quickly she could have an infection or there could be lots of other under lying problems my advice to you would be get her to a vet hamsters if there not active usually have something wrong they can die so quickly please take her to the vet
put a medium size towel in the dryer 4 about 30 sec and rap her up in it.

All you can do is make her comfortable. We put ours in a bowl with a warm cloth and made her as comfortable as we could, Sadly it was her time, it was just hard to see her suffer and watch my kids take it all in and try and deal with it.
I have found that hamsters can eat the wrong things and you have to be very careful what is available to them. Don't leave food in their cage if it is starting to rot. Take it out of the cage rightaway. I don't know if they are being intentionally suicidal or not, but if they eat something not good for them they could get sick and maybe even die. Try to let them have plenty of rest. Clean the cage regularly.
