My hamster has a large growth?

I have a teddy bear hamster and he is less than a year old. He has this large growth on his chest that appeared practically overnight and I don't know what it is. The spot isn't hard but it appears to be getting bigger and bigger, fast. He's still very active, eating, playing, ect. Can anyone help?
Answers:
TAKE IT TO THE VET! It sounds like a cyst or boil that the vet can easily take care of
i've had many hamsters before but this one.as it seems he possibly bumped that spot hard into somewhere?Like maybe a loose part of the excercise wheel..and what does the growth look like?Maybe you should take it to the vet for examining too.
Hmm mabey cancer? Im so sorry. Im not sure if you can take a hamser to a vet. But ou may want to call, Good luck
well, try picking him up and examining him. of course, since you're probably not a vet, u cant make a proper diagnosis. However, the best thing to do is to take him to the vet to be examined. but since he's still acting normally, u dont have to be afraid he'll die immediately. By the way, teddies are cute, i have a hamster, too.
Scince he is still being active, I wouldn't be too worried. But you say it is getting much bigger every day. So I would recomend taking to a vet. It is probably just a littlespot filled with extra body fluid. If you take him to the vet-SOON-then the vet can almost always drain it back to normal without causing harm to your hamster. Hope this Helps!
OK sorry to say but i had a teddy bear hamster and he got cancer in his pouch.Teddy bear hamster are more likely to develop cancer then other breeds.Take him to a vet!good luck to you.
I had a Dwarf Hamster, she had a cancer/tumor by her bottom. It started out really small and kept getting bigger. More than likely your teddy wont die, becouse mine didnt. I let her go so she could die wild. I could send you a picture. Just email me at cowgirl_rock@hotmail.com and ill send it to as soon as i can! Dont take your teddy to the vet its a waste of money.
Thats stupid. Take it to the vet. It could be as simple as a wound[ bite or other ] that could be a problem if not taken care of if it is absessed.
That is taken care of easily. It could be much more and having it euthanized will be much less painfull than letting it die slowley.
