My gueani pigs have started to eat toilet rolls - is this okay for them or should I take them away?

not unless you can't afford more tp. actually the pigs with regurgitate the paper later as a means to nest.

no its very good for them to chew because it helps wear their teeth down so they won't grow too long. i always gave my hamsters and gerbils toilet rolls to chew. plus they use the pieces for bedding. and its cute to watch!

It is ok for them to chew on it, but try to not give it to them too often..maybe once a week. How old are they? If they are fairly young, under a year, you should take it away from them. Good luck!

guinea pigs will eat anything. Mine eat the newspaper used to line their cage and its never done them any harm yet. Its only paper after all.

some really stupid answers on here today.If you're talking about their feces, that's what piggies do to replenish vitamins to their digestive systems, and to keep their digestive enzymes in balance.sheesh a lot of stupidity on here. If you're talking about toilet paper rolls, their just chewing to be chewing.

No it could block their intestines then you could end up with a dead pet or a big vet bill,make sure they have plenty of fresh raw vegetables and grass and they love dandelion leaves.
they dont eat them they chew them up for beding so i think it is a good idea to let them keep them it also helps their teeth not to be so long
They don't actually eat them. They chew them up to make a nest.(Bed) It won't hurt them. But if your worried by all means take them out.
what are you doing with guinea pigs in your toilet area anyway??
