my hamster always takes his food into his wheel and then runs riot is this normal? very noisy indeed!?

yes it is. I have 4 hamsters and one of mine does that. he is just a little overexcited and needs to run off that extra energy. Mine has been that way for 8 months and is still perfectly fine.

That's so funny. I had a hamster as a young child. I miss him.
Anyway, hamsters are notorious for running havoc.
That's their job. I used to enjoy watching all the crazy things he would do. And they're much smarter than people think. Make sure you let him out of his cage daily so he can get some excersise beyond the 'wheel'.

Yes it is normal, one of my hamsters chews the bars of her cage like mad when she wants food once i do feed her she takes all her food and then hides it in the corner of her cage, when i first got her and something made her jump she would run straight in her wheel and run so fast it was unbelievable she must have thought she was acutally running somewhere "quite funny".

That's perfectly normal.

Its the same as them putting their bedding in the wheel and then when you take it out, they do it all over again.

Your hamster is still looking for a spot to put his stuff. when he finds it. he'll stop.

yes. they have no concept of a wheel they just don't understand what they put in there will fly in their face while they run.

thats totally normal.. my hamster will run around the whell the whole night (which by the way makes me crazy)
but you should go to the pet store.. they usually sell the hamster wheel that is noiseless..
