my hampster likes black sunflower seeds so when i give him them thats all he eats is that good or bad?

he has other seeds but he wont eat them is there a trick i can do so he'll eat the other seeds to?
Answers:
r u giving him a hamster mix from which he picks out the seeds? they do love them but besides being fattening, they can cause skin problems because of the oils in them. give him a hamster mix with at least 15% protein---just read label. get one with a good mix of many seeds, corn, pellets. dont buy the lab blocks as they r boring---like eatingplain rice every day. pick out some of the seeds so he doesnt get too many. he'll then eat the other foods more often. do u give him any fruits/veggies? is it a syrian?
It's fine,, not to worry but continue to give it a little of the other stuff too!
Try giving him lettuce, tomatoes, carrots in small pieces to balance his diet.
no he likes them.. i had a snake once and i fed him regular mice.. then one day i gave him pinkys ( the baby mice that are pink) he got spoiled on them and thats all he would eat. good luck on t rying unless you can give him something he likes more.. try pistachios or something like that.
its good that he likes them but he needs a healthier and nutritious diet.he cant only eat sunflower seeds.his diet must be fulfilling.
tts bad. try givin him other food only and sooner or later. he wil eat em cos he hav no other choice.. sunflower seeds are fattenin and too much of it wil cos death cos not enuff nutrients too
You need to get him on a well balanced diet and give the sunflower seeds as a treat. Sunflower seeds are very fattening and he will gain too much weight which is not good for him.
I don't think they will do him any harm, but i would find out what is a healthy diet for him, there are lots of books about on advice,or you try your local vet, just phone up and ask
it's okay i guess.

we feed them anything, as long as we know it's not harmful to their health..
The sunflower seeds are too fattening and should only be an occasional treat. The easiest way to ensure a complete and healthy diet is to get lab blocks from the pet store, they are large brown pellets that you feed instead of seeds you can also try the other pelleted diets such as exact rainbow, (it tends to be a little more appealing) but I would deffinetly get him on pellets. If for some reason you are not able to find pellets and can not order online I would take all the sunflower seeds out when you give him his food so he is forced to eat the rest and only occasionally give him the sunflower seeds (like one a day). Good Luck
