my hampster is bleedin from below shes a year old but its never happened before?

my hampster is a girl ive had her for over a year since she was a baby today she was covered in blood comin from down below this has never happened before. is this a period or should i take her to the vets
Answers:
it might be wet tail which is a common problem with hamsters. Sorry to say but you will probably have to have her put down as I don't believe there is a cure.

Really sorry about that.
if its just a lil it could be her period, but if you are concerned about her; take her to the vet so they can check her.
I have had a couple of female hampsters in my day and have never had this happen. I think you need to take her to the vet.
i think a visit to the vets is needed
vets, ASAP! they do not have periods. If you wait until tomorrow she may have bled to death!

"if its just a lil it could be her period"
this is not just poor advice but dangerous. Really, if you have no idea, then don't answer as you might cause an animal to die if someone with less of a clue than you, listens to you and doesn't take it to a vet.
it sounds as though there is a problem i would contact a small animal vet (one that treats small animals as not all vets do.) they could tell you more..but i would seek professional help..
It's not normal - take her to the vet.
Could be that she's in heat, but I would really recommend getting her to the vet to make sure.that sounds like an awful lot of blood. See if you can get her in today. If you call and explain it, they may be able to tell you what it is without having to see her.
i think you should take her to the vet because you might not be sure of what is wrong.it could be somethings wrong and it may cause problems in the future.do not do something you 'll regret, take her to the vet..
it's a period, it's going through hamster puberty
Female hamsters don't have menstrual cycles but once or twice in their life they may suffer from a small amount of vaginal bleeding. This bleeding is only very minor "spotting" and occurs for only a day or two. The cause for this is not known but it does not seem to be due to any illness.

Excessive or prolonged vaginal bleeding can be due to a uterine infection or other problem and should be investigated by a vet. I would strongly recommend you take her to the vet asap to get her checked out but this info may give you some peace of mind. Good luck and hope she's okay.
idk. hmm. look it up in a book or call the vet.
Hamsters don't have periods so she may have a uterine infection or something like it. Have you been giving her anything to drink except water? Also, she may have had a miscarriage if you were breeding her.
please get her to the vet asap as there is something wrong this does not happen normally
TAKE HER TO THE VET!! ASAP! tell them the problem and that she needs to be seen. When this happened to my hamster the vet said it was due to a twist in her bowel and she had to be put down. Hamsters dont have periods!
VETS NOW!.
your first priority should have been to get your hamster to the vets rather than ask the question on here, how can you even think of your computer when your poor hamster is bleeding!
get the vet to check her over. if you haven't or don't intend to breed her she could get a womb infection. which happened to a hamster i had a few years ago sadly when the vet opened her up (he was going to do a hysterectomy) all her internal organs had tumours attached so please don not ignore this bleeding.could be a symptom of some thing more serious.
