He's a golden hamster, 2 or 3 years old, does he have a cataract or something?
Thanks,
Jimmy

A cloudy eye usually signifies something to do with going blind. your hamster is quite old and so the problem may gradually get worse, go to the vet and see if you can get some eye drops to counteract the problem.
Maybe you should eat him. He sounds like a nice tasty Hampster.
awwww poor thing. jus take him to the vet. if not look on the internet for the anwers
it's time for your golden hamster to DIE
It could be that he has a cold. You might get some help at http://www.petwebsite.com/eye.htm.
Do you mean his eye is cloudy as in white in the center?
If so then yes it's very likely that he has a cataract, I've seen it in rats before and it starts in the center of the eye and looks very milky in color. You should take him to the vet just to be sure as I obviously can't diagnose him.
Cataracts isn't painful in rats at all so I'm thinking it's not painful to your hamster, just make sure it doesn't affect him too much. Watch him while he's playing or running around, make sure he won't accidentally harm himself. If it's just in one eye then he'll be fine but if it's in both eyes you're going to have to treat him a little differently. They rely on their hearing and smell way more than their eyes but a blind hamster could end up hurting himself. Again, if it's only in one eye and he seems to do just fine while he's playing or running around then he should be just fine. Obviously you'll have to keep an eye on it.
Be sure you do take him to the vet though, like I said before it's not like we can diagnose it. Good luck and sorry to hear about your hamster =/
pet that develope a cloudy eye usually means that the eye has a
"cold" or infection in it.
He is not going to die over a cloudy eye.Just take him to a vet and get him checked out,or go to a pet store that sells hamsters and ask about it. They should be able to tell you something that may be of help to you and your hamster. Jimmy you never know your hamster may out live his life expectancy. Good luck!
He could be going blind.aw, poor thing! But, he may have a cold.
My hamster had a cloudy eye when I got her from my friend. She was blind. Dont take your hamster to the vet youll be wasting your money it cost up to 60 dollars for a checkup and more for the stuff they use for him/her. Pluss hell probibly die soon. Theres nuthin the vet can do anyway.
