Put peroxide on a rag and dab its wounds, and put neosporin on there to promote healing. Put it in a box to heal and so you can watch it. Praying helps, too! We did this with my cat when he was severely injured, and now he's back to normal!

I would recommend a spice rub followed by a fast cooking of the parts with vegetables in a very hot dutch oven. Unless the chicken is worth a high vet's bill it is a goner and you might as well give it the only care that it will benefit from.

I'd advise a vet visit. You may need to put antibiotics in your chicken's water to help keep it from getting an infection, a deep wound may need stitches. Is the bird eating? Drinking? If so, that is great. If not, get help FAST. Try to get a sick chicken to eat by feeding it human cereal oatmeal, make it up like you would eat it (cooked, not seasoned). That is best.
