I just brought a new male ferret home a day ago, I already have a female. And when the male gets near the female he begins this low pitched rapid chattering. He doesn't seem scared and keeps going back to her wanting to play. Is this something I should worry about? Does it just mean that hes happy/excited, or does it mean he's scared? Someone please help.

I think he is asking her out. You shouldn't be watching what they do on their date though. Give them some privacy.
he is trying to show off for her
My budgies are the same way! Go figure.
it means he wants the female ferrit.
It's perfectly normal, some ferrets are more talkative than others.
Are your ferrets fixed? If not, he may be talking more than usual due to. well, sexual excitement I suppose.
this is normal in ferrets. he is probably wanting to play. male ferrets are much more playful than females, so she probably isn't interested. he is probably try to see how she responds, if they start 'hissing", it means they are getting too each other.
they should get along ok, being just the two of them. nothing to worry about. if they are having problems, it won't last long. they will both relax in a few days and enjoy each others company.
i have to ferrets personally
i believe that the way you are discribing it, it is a happy sound but i don't think it is i think that he maybe happy to have a home but you might have to keep them in seperate cages for a week but keep the cages next to each other that way they get used to each others company
