My niece sprayed hairspray on our hamster and then a week later it died, was it the hairspray that killed it?

or do you think it was just a coincidence?
Answers:
Unless she really coated the little fuzzball, it's probably just a coincidence the little guy expired. The survival rate of pet store rodents isn't great.
well mabe but idk
Without an official rodent autopsy.
we will sadly, never know..

WTH- was someone spraying a hamster with hairspray for?
Maybe it didn't like it's new hairstyle..?

I guess it depends on how much hairspray. I am sure it wasn't good for it either way.
most likely. how much was sprayed on it?
It might have killed it. Sorry for your loss, Did it have any lumps? If it did it probibly had caner/tumer. I dont really know for sure, I might be able to tell you if i had seen it.
No.
Aerosols contain many toxins %26 pollutants, nobody should really B spraying it near their face let alone B in the same room!
Poor hamster, gassed 2 death.
Did she spray a lot on it? Did it start acting sick right after? Did you bother to wash the hamster off? Was it old or sick already? You really haven't given enough information for even a good guess. But I wouldn't recommend letting that kid near your other pets, just in case.
Hard to tell without an autopsy but I'll make an educated guess.

Hairspray can burn the lungs if inhaled-
Burned lungs can get pneumonia- and that would take several days to develop.

I'm going to guess the Hamster died of respiratory complications cause by hairspray inhalation.
yes
no it was possibly the chemicals in the hairspray they are not good for us as well, on the can it says do not test on animals..does this help? k
Unless the hamster showed symptoms within 24 hours, I'd guess the hairspray was not the cause of death. A week is a pretty long time for a hamster.
