My parents said i could have a horse but they have since said no am i selfish for being angry.?

They said i could have a horse once i finished my GCSE's and i started collage. I have now started collage (only going so that i could get a horse if i hadnt gone i would of got a job to buy a horse). Since my parents said that, my uncle has almost gone banckrupt because his ex wife spent too much and my parents say they cant pay for a horse incase my uncle need the money (but for a man that supposidly has nothing he lives in a huge house and spends alot on designer clothes) my dad has also got a big pay rise. So i find it hard to understand why they have no money to pay for a horse. Am i selfish ps i have been riding for 14 years and have always hoped to have a caraer in show jumping but i need a horse to practice on (my parents want me to be an accountant) and it is not the first time they have said i can have a horse then said no (they said it when im at secondary school, when ive done my sats, when i am in year 11 and thats just to name a few) Please help i need to know.

I can understand why you are upset. But, you must also understand if your parents say they can't afford it right now.
Get a part time job and save up for your horse. You can work part-time, while going to school.
well, i say that if you hold on a little bit longer you might get your horse and yes that makes you a little selfish and it's ok to be angry
well not really because nothing against your uncle but he could be fibbing, and no it is okay to be angry.
Horses are a big hassle you first have to have a big place to shelter the horse and a big field to so that the horse exercises they eat alot and their droppings are also bad but still I like horses
if u get a horse, where would u keep it in?
You aren't being selfish but it's time you start working to get your horse. I've been riding for 8 and have had 3 horses, but my last two have been leases. Right now I'm stuck in a lease. It isn't just buying the horse though it's the upkeep. Keep in mind most good barns are at least 300 a month for board and that's cheap. Plus vet bills at least 150-200 for shoeing every 4-6 weeks and showing is way up there if your doing A rated stuff. I wish you the best though if you can get a horse. It's probably time to give up on waiting for your parents though.
Do you realize what it costs to get a horse that can be a show jumper. First, to have a career in show jumping you are talking about a horse that is in excess of $50,000, plus a trainer in excess of $1,000 a month, plus vet bills, plus shoes, plus tack. Of course, the horse have to be insured, since any sane person would not buy something that expensive and not have insurance. Then there is the clothes that you will need to complete. Helmet, boots, jods, jacket (custom made of course), etc. Then there is entry fees, stabling costs, grooms fees, trailering fees, hotel stays and food.
If they can't afford it, they can't afford it. However, they should not promise you something that they know they can't afford either.

Just finish college, get a good job, and buy your own horse.
Why dont you get your college education and then you can buy your own horse
Sorry, things change, maybe you can take care of other peoples horse until you can buy your own horse and care for it properly.
I don't think you are selfish at all. I think your parents are worried about your future, which is their right, but not at the expense of your happiness and dreams. It's not like you are wanting to run off and marry some mean guy they don't approve of or want to get pregnant or join the circus.. sounds like you just want a horse and will continue going to college and ride in your spare time.. and it's totally wrong of your parents to promise something and then go back on their word. and I also think it's wrong for them to put your irresponsible uncle's problems infront of their daughter's happiness. Sounds like you are doing everything you are supposed to and mom and dad are finding excuses not to reward you. Stand up for yourself cuz it's sounding like no one else is going to hun. Good Luck
