You can't force things like that. Try setting them up for a nice candlelit dinner.
Maybe they don't like each other. give them some time and they may come around.
They need hamster couple's counseling fast before they kill each other.
Put them in separate cages where they can see each other, but cannot fight. These things take time. Would you have a baby with a random stranger? It's the same way. I'm not sure if rodent mating requires a season or if the female needs to be in heat. Kepp them this way until they get more used to each other. Then put them together and supervise them. If you need to leave return them to their seperate cages. You can't force these things. Good Luck!
first of all unless u watch them 24/7 u wouldnt know if they have. and why do u want them to mate anyway? there r so many homeless hamsters already. even when they r bred u have to separate them right after they mate because they will fight and eventually kill. they have to have separate cages. if they havent u cant force it. just give him his own home and wait a few weeks and see if she has babies. baby hamsters r a lot of responsibility. r u prepared to find homes for possibly 15 babies? how about cannibalism? or birth defects?
