It's amazing no one has answered this correctly.

Those are scent glands. Sometimes referred to as "hip spots", Syrians have scent glands located on each hip. Like other mammals, the Syrian uses its scent glands as a means of marking their territory by rubbing these glands on vertical objects. In the wild, this is known to other hamsters that a marked area is "taken" or "controlled" by the marking hamster. The second use of the scent glands is to create an odor that indicates the hamster is ready for mating. This is used by females in the wild to lure males to their burrows. Occasionally the glands secrete a sticky substance, which is more prominent on the males. This is normal and should not be cause for alarm. On rare occasions however, these glands may become blocked creating a sore and inflamed area. Should this happen to your hamster it is advisable to see a veterinarian.
brown moles..you just told us! lol
Are they fury brown moles ?
every kind of mammal gets moles.ive seen dogs cats deer squirrrels with them.
is his name gismo, did u feed him after midnight, did u get him wet, are u sure he's a hamster.

take to vets for check up
Wow. How big is your hamster? Moles are quite big compared to hamsters arn't they?
there fine i have 4 hamsters and 1 of them has the same thing i took it to the vet and he said that he will be fine its just part of his fur
Not being funny but since nobody can see these so called moles. how the heck is anyone supopsed to tell what they are? Take it to a vet for a diagnosis.
Are the 2 moles where the hamster's hips are? If so, then these are called 'hip spots' and have glands where the hamster produces it's scent from, all hamsters have these but they are more noticable on certain hamsters.
Hi Bigfatz
your poor daughter hopefully its nothing, they may have been there when you got them. If her Hamster is eating and sleeping normal i would just let it alone. I think maybe the vet might irritate them. Good Luck Say Hi to your daughter for me
Sorry to say but i might not be moles!
I think the moles might be cancer, or just tumors. If they start to get bigger then there cancer/tumors. My hamster had a spot and it wasnt a mole. It was a cancer tumor. I ended up letting her go for her last day. (couse i didnt want to have to clean up her body) She was breathing bad and didnt look good. she probibly only had 3 hrs left in her.
Gilly Bean is right, they're scent glands. don't panic!!
