They had been living together since they were born, and all the sudden, one of them has started attacking the other. (I've since separated them). Is there any way I can get them to be in the same cage together again?

More than likely they wont be able to live together. Ive got a couple Dwarf Hamsters. They are really good pets. And If i ever try to put them together they fight, even if its a girl and boy. If you want to hamsters that will live together, buy a girl and boy(but only if you dont mind having babies) Or 2 girls. I hope this helped! If youve got any questions then email me at.. cowgirl_rock@hotmail.com
they may have gotten along as babies, but most likely they'll start to fight as adults. if its a male and a female, they'll try to have sex with each other and may fight a lot, especially if one has babies and then the father with rape the younger daughters. Sometimes the males will fight a lot too. I suggest you keep them in separate cages, because they'll try to eat each other.
What is their sex? If they were mating, once they are done, they'll be fine. For awhile. If they're both males, it's a dominance thing, and if you add a female, they'll either sort it out or one will be killed.
When I was younger, I had two hamsters that I thought were FIGHTING too! But.. They ended up having babies. I didn't think to separate them and the papa ate the babies except for one. Then my little brother left the cage open and, they all escaped. Never saw them again.
Young male hamsters will fight for dominance when they hit sexual age, and intill one gives-up they will keep fighting for the right to be the dominant one. KEEP THEM SEPARATED!
This happened with our guinea pigs. Once they start fighting there is no way they will get along again. It is only with males and it is a testosterone thing. I know this for a fact as we had to separate ours for the same reason.
I think you should seperate them. if you don't want each one of them will die, just seperate them.
it's possible. although most dwarfs get along and like company, sometimes it just doesnt work out. was it serious fighting? they tend to fight to decide who's dominant and this can be very noisy but doesnt actually invlove a lot of contact. if the squabbles are short and sparadic with little physical contact this is normal behaviour and they should be left to sort things out. if however, the fighting is very physical and prolonged (blood or cuts) then it may be that they don't get along and will have to stay separated.
what kind of cage do u have? maybe if u got a bigger one or added a 2nd one to it, they would have more room and would get along. they could each have their own space this way.
