Answers:
IT is normal that Land Hermit Crab make Chirping or croaking like sounds.

The sound is produced by rubbing of their legs within the shell and it resonates to creat what seems to be a vocalization.

Sometimes they make sounds to communicate to eachother, and to convey a feeling like happiness , contentment or warning.

Othertimes this sound is produced in times of extreme stress. Whihc is what I believe to be the case here since this has happened before for you.

Are the tank conditions within proper range??

76-82 degrees F and 75%-85% relative humidity and do you provide both fresh and marine dechlorinated waters in large dishes

Also is the substrate proper, like playsand, moist coco-fiber or a mixture of the two.

Are you making sure you do not over handle them.

Without the above things, they will be stressed and contiunue to die.

Please start researching on proper care so this one survives and do not leave it alone for long, please get it another crab to live with, becasue if you keep it alone, it will also die.
